What is a PPP Lesson Plan?
The PPP lesson plan is a three-step framework designed to guide language teachers in presenting new language concepts to students, allowing them to practice and internalize these concepts before moving on to producing language on their own. The three main stages of a PPP lesson plan are:
Presentation
In this stage, the teacher introduces new language material, such as vocabulary, grammar rules, or sentence structures, to the students. The presentation should be clear, concise, and engaging, using various teaching aids, visual aids, and real-life examples to make the content more relatable and understandable.
Practice
Once the new language material has been presented, the students engage in structured activities to practice using the language themselves. These activities can be individual, pair work, or group exercises that provide ample opportunities for active participation, reinforcement, and clarification of doubts.
Production
In the final stage, students are encouraged to apply what they have learned more creatively and communicatively. This phase often involves role-plays, debates, discussions, or project-based tasks that allow students to use the language in real-life scenarios, fostering fluency and confidence.
